On the following page, we would like to inform you in more detail about the major interdisciplinary projects of the DBI Group.

Our Highlights

Other ongoing major projects

EminkoNa – Emission reduction in small wood-burning stoves through combined dust separation & catalytic flue gas treatment using a downstream unit in accordance with the Blue Angel criteria for wood-burning stoves

Runtime

01.01.2022 – 30.06.2024

Funding code

49MF210144

Supported by the

Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection

As part of the funded project “Emission reduction in small wood combustion plants” (Emin koNa), the DBI – Gastechnologisches Institut gGmbH Freiberg (DBI-GTI) is developing an innovative cleaning system for the removal of dust, carbon monoxide and gaseous organic compounds from wood combustion plants. The envisaged solution is geared towards the acute concerns of the industry and should be open to practical application.

H2-Infra – Efficient and safe operation of hydrogen distribution networks

Runtime

01.01.2022 – 31.12.2024

Funding code

03EI3054A-C

Supported by the

Projektträger Jülich / Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz

The project H₂-Infrastructure – Efficient and safe operation of hydrogen distribution networks (H₂-Infra) was launched in January 2022. It is funded with around EUR 1.6 million by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK). The project focuses on researching an ecological, economical and safe hydrogen distribution network that is tested and trialed under realistic operating conditions. The aim is to provide extremely high gas quality for future applications and technologies, ensure the functionality of the infrastructure and guarantee security of supply.

SYMBOKO – Synthesis of methanol from biogas with complete carbon utilization

Runtime

01.07.2021 – 30.06.2023

Funding code

03EE5070A

Supported by the

Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz & Projektträger Jülich

The SYMBOKO project (synthesis of methanol from biogas with complete carbon utilization) focuses on the development of an innovative process for methanol production from biogas with the integration of hydrogen and oxygen from renewable sources. The innovative content lies in particular in a novel process for the production of synthesis gas which, with appropriate process interconnection, enables a carbon utilization rate of > 95% of the overall process as well as the flexible integration of volatile hydrogen and oxygen.
